Melvin Sharpe
Born on 16th April 1962 saddly passed away on the 24th March 2008
aged 45. He joined the Royal Engineers at the age of 16,and reached the rank of Staff Sergent he was very well respected in the army.Although he had to work away from home a lot and moved around a lot he loved it,he went to so many places and saw a lot of the world. He also enjoyed playing football and golf allthough i think he thought he was better than what he was.
He leaves behind 3 brothers Richard,Jamie and Martin they were all close.
He sadly lost his father many years ago but his mother lives in sutton.
He was married for 19 years to Wendy Sharpe but sadley split 6 years ago, they had a very happy marrage, and had many happy years together.
Although he had seperated from his wife i knew there was still love between them. He is missed so very much by all that loved and knew him. No one more so than his children and wife, he would have done anything for his children, and was an amazining father! He had 3 children Sam 24,Abi 22 and Alex 11 who all love him so very much and are still finding it very hard to come terms with the thought of never seeing their beloved father again.
He died of a heart attack very suddenly which was very hard as he was a very fit man and had never had any problems with his heart before.
I would just like to say how much i loved my dad he was the best dad ever! He was always there whenever any of us children needed him, he was so kind and was my rock i feel so very lost without him. I feel very sad for my younger sister Alex, myself and brother were very lucky to have him with us whilst we grew up but my younger sister has to grow up without her dad by her side. Although i believe he is still by myside, by all of our sides it is still very hard and always will be.
To my wonderful dad i love and miss you so very much it hurts even more with each day that goes by. I would give anything to have you back there with us but i know deep down your up there with your dad looking after Thomas James your baby grandson.
Love you always and forever your daughter abigail xxx

I stood watching as the little ship sailed out to sea. The setting sun tinted his white sails with a golden light, and as he disappeared from sight a voice at my side whispered, 'He is gone'.

But the sea was a narrow one. On the farther shore a little band of friends had gathered to watch and wait in happy expectation. Suddenly they caught sight of the tiny sail and, at the very moment when my companion had whispered, 'He is gone' a glad shout went up in joyous welcome, 'Here he comes!'

So sorry for your loss
